Benjamin J. Coon

Mr. Coon is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from GMI Engineering and Management Institute. While an undergrad, Mr. Coon worked for Johnson Controls Inc. where he completed several design related assignments focusing primarily on polymer manufacturing processes. His undergraduate thesis concentrated on component weight reduction using predictive computer modeling. After graduating from GMI, Mr. Coon was employed for over 5 years as a Design and Release Engineer for Ford Motor Company. His responsibilities ranged from overseas supplier development to design, test, and launch responsibility for interior systems on the 2005 Mustang. Prior to graduating law school, Mr. Coon worked as a Law Clerk for Carlson, Gaskey & Olds. Mr. Coon's practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patents in various areas, including automotive and manufacturing technologies.
